Infection Prevention and Control Supervisor at Medecins Sans Frontieres - MSF OCP.
Can you please tell us a bit about your current work/research?
I am working as IPC Supervisor with MSF France, an International Non-governmental Organisation by implementing through collaborating with both staff from top to bottom IPC measures to minimize the risk of Healthcare Associated Infections and Combat Antimicrobial Resistance through a judicious use of Antibiotics in our facility. I am carrying out research on significance of hand hygiene.
What course and year did you study at LSHTM?
Professional Diploma in Tropical Nursing in the year 2023.
Why did you choose to study with LSHTM?
I choose to study at LSHTM because it's high reputation in terms of knowledge and standards and being the third best University globally.
Did you have to overcome any challenges to study with us?
Yes, the challenges are work life balance as sometimes the lectures take the whole day.
Did you receive any funding to study with us?
Yes, I was given a scholarship to study this course.
What were your favourite memories from your studies with us?
The practical session which is more interactive and included a group section and conducting presentations.
How has your LSHTM degree helped you in your career?
My LSHTM degree helped me and still helping me in different aspects of healthcare most especially tropical diseases, coming from a Tropical region, I am faced with all these tropical diseases and the knowledge acquired is guiding me in providing a standard and evidence-based care in my community.
What would you like to achieve in future?
I would like to become an expert in Tropical disease and infection prevention and control as this will help me during the fight against antimicrobial resistance and other tropical neglected diseases.
Do you have any advice for students/recent graduates?
My advice for students is to embrace their studies as LSHTM is always giving the best and for graduate, I would like to encourage us to network and utilise knowledge acquired in order to impact the immediate and global community.
