Ms Zaruhi Mkrtchyan

Research Student - DrPH - Public Health & Policy

United Kingdom

I've recently become a part of LSHTM as a DrPH student within the Faculty of Public Health and Policy, following the successful completion of the online MSc in Epidemiology program at LSHTM.

I bring over two decades of rich experience as a global health professional, specializing in health research, monitoring and evaluation, program management, and strategic planning. My expertise encompasses a wide range of areas, including tuberculosis, migrant and refugee health, vaccine-preventable diseases and immunization, maternal and child health, family planning, as well as health systems and health reforms.

My professional journey has been diverse, serving as a research assistant, monitoring and evaluation expert, health programme management specialist. During this time, I focused on critical areas such as maternal and child health and family planning, demographics and health surveys, and played a key role in health system strengthening and health policy projects, working with the Government of Armenia and several international NGOs. Furthermore, I provided consultancies to organizations such as WHO and other UN Agencies, both within Armenia and on an international scale, participating in a range of projects with far-reaching impacts.
