We know some types of video content is not fully accessible:
- many videos (on all platforms) have automatically generated captions;
- some older videos (on Panopto and Vimeo) may not have captions; and
- live video streams do not have captions.

Enforcement procedure
The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (the 'accessibility regulations'). If you are not happy with how we respond to your complaint, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
Technical information about our video accessibility
LSHTM is committed to making its video content accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
Compliance status
Our video content is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Disproportionate burden
Prerecorded video: We do not provide manually edited captions for all prerecorded videos as this would be a disproportionate burden to produce. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.2.2 (captions - prerecorded). We aim to ensure that all prerecorded videos have automatically generated captions.
Content that is not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
Prerecorded video: Some of our older recorded videos do not have captions. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.2.2 (captions - prerecorded). We do not plan to replace these or add captions as videos published before 23 September 2020 are exempt from meeting the accessibility regulations.
Live video: Some of our live video streams do not have captions. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.2.4 (captions - live). We do not plan to add captions to live video streams because live video is exempt from meeting the accessibility regulations.
