It is with great sadness that we heard of the recent death of Ruth Kipling who passed away suddenly last week.

Ruth had retired from LSHTM in September 2017 after 24 years of service. She joined our School in August 1993, working with the then Secretary and Registrar and Director of Resources and Planning. In this role she provided invaluable support to a number School Committees, including Council, and helped support the renovation works to the South Courtyard and the building of the John Snow Lecture Theatre in our Keppel Street building in London.

In 2013 she moved to the HR department, taking up the role of HR Administrator and Office Manager, where she continued to work with the HR team on a casual basis for several months, supporting the academic promotions process.

Ruth was a much-loved colleague and friend and will be fondly remembered for her love of music, delicious cake making, friendliness and her exceptional ability to recall long-forgotten facts and figures about LSHTM business. We send our sincere condolences, thoughts and prayers to her husband Jeff and family.
