The Changing Face of Keppel Street

Using objects, photographs, maps, plans and papers from the archives, this exhibition reveals the changes that have taken place on the Keppel Street site from the 18th to the 21st centuries.

As well as being a part of the Duke of Bedford's Bloomsbury estate, the site also housed the Keppel Street Chapel, and Gibson’s Wine Shop.

Visitors can then step back in time to discover the forgotten history of the YMCA Hut that stood on the School site during World War I as a ‘home from home’ for New Zealand soldiers, in the ‘Resurrecting the Shakespeare Hut’ installation.
