Global Health Security in Crises Affected Countries
Abstract: The Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) are the 19 programs that comprise the core of public health capacity for countries, as agreed by an international coalition of organizations. Some 20 national assessments have been carried out in the last 6 months, including in several fragile states. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have worked closely with the WHO to develop this enhanced system for International Health Regulation since the Ebola epidemic. This talk will present examples of the GHSA program, and describe its potential use for strengthening health systems in unstable areas.
