Improving menstrual health – a silver bullet or a human rights crisis
Menstrual health is a human right. We will present findings from recent LSHTM research evaluating strategies to improve menstrual health globally.
Menstrual health is a public health and human rights issue, and can affect multiple dimensions of health, education and well-being. In this webinar, LSHTM researchers will present findings from recent research evaluating strategies to improve menstrual health in schools in The Gambia, Tanzania and Uganda, among women and girls with intellectual disabilities in Vanuatu, and among women and healthcare workers in Zimbabwe.
The seminar will include a summary of results from the MENISCUS trial. The aim of the MENISCUS trial is to evaluate the impact of a multi-component menstrual health intervention in Ugandan secondary schools on girls’ education, health, and well being.
