Dr Louise Tina Day

Paediatrician/ obstetrician trained in UK then lived in rural South Asia for 15 years working as a clinician scientist across the mother-newborn-child-adolescent health/nutrition continuum of care.

Louise joined LSHTM in 2017 and was previously Deputy Head of the Maternal Newborn Health Group.

She enjoys innovating low-cost practical solutions for the sustainable implementation of evidence-based solutions in maternal newborn child health.

Integrating mother and child health and improving quality of care and data quality and use in high mortality/ morbidity settings.

Louise was the LSHTM PI for the Every Newborn-Birth Indicators Research Tracking in Hospitlas (EN-BIRTH) 2 study leading to the collaborative development of the Every Newborn Measurement for Newborns and Stillbirths (EN-MINI Tools) https://www.data4impactproject.org/resources/en-mini-tools/en-mini-tool…. Louise is the Co-PI for the Improving Quality and Use of Newborn Indicators (IMPULSE) study. She is the LSHTM team as reserach partners with MOMENTUM Safe Surgery in Obstetrics and Family Planning (MSSFPO) projects include exploring Counselling Consent and Debriefing for Caesarean Section.

She is currently working in a consultant role for the WHO Maternal Child Adolescent health department.
