Prior to attending LSHTM studying MSc Control of Infectious Diseases from 2020-2021, I completed my bachelor’s degree in Food Science at Washington State University, where I also worked as a cheesemaker before graduating in 2017 and moving to Portland, Oregon to work in food safety and quality. Following my time there I moved to Rwanda for two years as a Peace Corps Health Volunteer focusing on maternal and child health as well as Malaria control in Northern Rwanda. In addition to this I also have several years of experience working with disease control programs for internal parasites and other diseases in livestock, specifically ruminants.
What I enjoyed most about studying my programme/at LSHTM
My fellow students. One of the best parts of attending LSHTM is the wide range of experiences and backgrounds that your fellow students arrive with. LSHTM is truly one of those schools where you learn as much from each other as you do from your classes which is, in my opinion, absolutely fantastic.
What I have been doing since graduating
Following my time at LSHTM I lived and worked in London in Open Data and Climate change at the Open Data Institute before moving back to the USA in 2022. I now work in Health Policy for the state of Oregon and love it, if policy is something you’re interested in, please reach out!
