BSc in Biology and Music, minor in Public Health, Santa Clara University & MD candidate, Duke-NUS Medical School. Prior to LSHTM, I worked in the biotech industry developing medical diagnostics for infectious diseases and cardiovascular health.
What I enjoyed most about studying at LSHTM
Learning from my classmates as much as I did from my professors. Everyone came from such diverse backgrounds – academically, professionally, geographically – and my worldview widened immensely. Not only did I gain an invaluable skillset and knowledge base to help launch my career in public health, but I also developed a strong and lasting network of friends, colleagues, and mentors. We are all united in LSHTM's mission to improve health worldwide!
Since graduating I have been...
I worked as a research assistant at the Maternal, Adolescent, Reproductive, & Child Health (MARCH) Centre for over a year after graduation. As part of the EN-BIRTH research team, I was able to publish my MSc dissertation and helped publish 15 other peer-reviewed papers validating maternal and newborn health indicators. Subsequently, I coordinated my county’s COVID-19 mobile vaccination program, confronting vaccine distribution inequities head-on by serving residents disproportionately hit by the pandemic. I am currently studying medicine in Singapore and still work with my LSHTM mentor on research. I hope to utilize my MD-MPH degrees to improve the health of children around the world.
