I am an Associate Professor in Global Mental Health at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and co-Programme Director for the joint MSc in Global Mental Health and co-Director for the Centre for Global Mental Health, both of which are in partnership with the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King's College London. I am an epidemiologist and mixed methods researcher. I work predominantly in the area of mental health services and policy research and capacity strengthening in global mental health. I have worked closely with governments to advise on policy development, mental health services and policy research, programme evaluation as well as delivered leadership training for a wide range of stakeholders for over 15 years.

I lead the Introduction to Global Mental Health module for the MSc in Global Mental Health and also teach into several other modules within LSHTM and externally. I also lead/contribute to other capacity strengthening / training initiativs such as the Support, Comprehensive Care and Empowerment of People with Psychosocial Disabilities in Sub-Saharan Africa (SUCCEED) Research Programme Consortium (Capacity Building Workstream) and African Mental Health Research Initiative (AMARI) which focus on local leadership in mental health research.
