I am a Research Fellow in the Department of Health Services Research and Policy at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). Before joining LSHTM, I worked in the Department of Health Sciences at the University of York as a Research Fellow, and in the Department of Politics at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) as a Research Officer.
I received a PhD in Economics from the University of Birmingham, where I also attained an MSc in Economics. I am also a Research Statistician at The Royal College of Anaesthetists, and an Honorary Clinical Follow at The Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Research
I was trained as an econometrician and have spent years of research in health policy and health inequality by analysing large electronically linked health datasets in England. My current research project is an NIHR-funded programme interrogating the re-design of NHS cancer treatment services to optimise equity, access and patient outcomes. Prior to this project, I have led the quantitative workstream of a mixed-method project investigating the inequalities in health service access and physical health outcomes for people with severe mental illness. I have subsequently received a research grant to experiment econometric methods on this project.
I am particularly interested in analysing the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD), Hospital Episode Statistics (HES), and the National Cancer Registration and Analysis Service (NCRAS) datasets using statistical modelling and geographic information (GIS) techniques. I am also interested in supervising PhD students in such areas.
