I am a Paediatrician with a special interest in Paediatric Infectious Diseases. Working in India, we see a lot of children with Infectious Diseases such as Malaria, Typhoid, Dengue fever, tuberculosis and HIV. As an Assistant Professor in Paediatrics, I also teach medical students and trainees as well as carry out research. Besides working in India, I have also worked as a Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Infectious Diseases for 10 months at the St. George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK.
Research interests or career goals
I wish to further my interest in Paediatric Infectious Diseases including Childhood Tuberculosis as well as bring those skills learnt in the UK to the medical students and Paediatric trainees in India enhancing their learning and curriculum.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
The MSc Infectious Diseases offers you core modules covering areas such as statistics and epidemiology both very relevant to the COVID-19 pandemic. The flexibility of extending your learning from two to five years makes this course very popular amongst those like myself who wish to juggle studies with work and family.
