Research
Prior to joining LSHTM, I was a project manager and postdoc in the Department of Psychiatry, at the University of Oxford, working on the MindKind project and the OxWell School Mental Health project. These projects are particularly centred around the psychosocial factors which impact mental health in children and young people.
My research so far has largely focused on factors which affect youth mental health in the UK and, low- and middle-income countries. I completed my PhD at Roehampton University investigating social and cognitive factors affecting development and intervention outcomes. Having also worked on the Co-PACT project (Department of Psychiatry, University of Oxford) which examines the experiences of service users detained under the Mental Health Act, I’m further interested in understanding how policy can be used to improve services, particularly for those from minority backgrounds.
