Educational/ Professional background
I graduated from the University of Brighton in 2020 after studying BSc in Biomedical Science. Before coming to LSHTM, I worked as Medical Laboratory Assistant in NHS diagnostic laboratories. I worked in the Molecular Diagnostics and Microbiology departments and became interested in studying infectious diseases.
Research interests/Career goals
I am particularly interested in exploring viral and bacterial infection mechanisms, specifically their interactions with host cells. I am also interested in the emergence of Antimicrobial Resistance in the context of hospital-acquired infections. My goal is to work in a research lab and contribute to improving our understanding of these diseases.
Why I chose LSHTM
I chose to study MSc Medical Microbiology at LSHTM because of the incredible facilities and emphasis placed on the development of practical skills. Being able to learn from researchers who are experts in their field is an incredible opportunity, as is being able to get involved with the variety of Research Centres at LSHTM.
