LGBT History Month Film Series​: Albert Nobbs (2012)

To mark LGBT+ History Month, a selection of international films with topics related to public health are being shown at LSHTM.

An international selection of films, with topics related to public health, have been chosen to mark LGBT+ History Month. All films portray the lives of queer people and themes of a sexual or traumatic nature are common.

These events are open to LSHTM and University of London staff and students.

Programme

Albert Nobbs (2012, UK/Ireland/USA; 113 mins) Drama

Drama centered on a woman living as a man in 19th Century Ireland. After thirty years, a new love threatens to destroy everything she's built. 

The event also includes a virtual talk by Dr Kit Heyam (author of Before We Were Trans: A New History of Gender) on ‘Is Albert Nobbs trans history?’
