Dr. Jim Cherry is a Professor of Paediatrics at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA. His laboratory experience has focused on virology, mycoplasmology, and molecular microbiology of Bordetella species. The majority of his present work is related to the epidemiology of Bordetella pertussis worldwide and its prevention by new vaccine strategies. Dr. Cherry has been on the faculty of David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA for 30 years. He is a distinguished paediatrician and co-editor of Feigin and Cherry's Textbook of Paediatric Infectious Diseases, now in the 7th edition.
