Future proofing health and social care: the role for palliative and end of life care
33rd Annual Health Services Research Lecture
The Department of Health Services Research and Policy are delighted to invite you to join them for their 33rd Annual Health Service Research Lecture, which welcomes Professor Irene J Higginson, the Professor of Palliative Care & Policy and Director of the Cicely Saunders Institute at King’s College London.
Abstact: Providing effective and humane palliative and end of life care is one of the greatest challenges facing health and social care and yet it receives relatively little attention from health services research. In her lecture, Irene Higginson will consider the population’s need and the evidence for the effectiveness of existing interventions and services. With an aging population beset with multi-morbidity, the contribution health services research could make to improving care will be explored.
