Educational/professional background

I hold a PhD in Public Health and have Master’s degrees in Public Health and Epidemiology. I obtained my Master’s degree in Epidemiology by Distance Learning from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

What I enjoyed most about studying my programme/at LSHTM

What I most enjoyed about studying at LSHTM definitely was the opportunity to do one to two modules on-site (i.e., blended learning). It was so much fun to get to know the other students and also explore the university and the city. Besides, I enjoyed being able to study at my own pace. It made studying more convenient, while working full-time.

What I have been doing since graduating

One year after finishing my studies at LSHTM, I also finished my PhD studies in Vienna, Austria. Since then, I have kept working in academia and now work as a postdoc at the Medical University of Vienna where I do research on suicide prevention with a particular focus on media.

Additional Information

Studying while working full-time can be challenging at times. Take your time and do not forget to take breaks. Also try to connect with other distance learning colleagues. There is so much you can learn from them and their support is invaluable.
