Educational/professional background

I'm a health professional with a bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery, a specialist's degree in Applied Methods of Research in Medical Sciences and a master's degree in Health Sciences from Anahuac University Mexico. I also have an MSc Infectious Diseases from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. I work as Academic and Operative Coordinator of the Public Health Programmes at the Carlos Slim Foundation, and as Professor and Researcher at Anahuac University Mexico.

What I enjoyed most about studying my programme/at LSHTM

I enjoyed learning from world-class professors, who shared their knowledge and passion for infectious diseases. I loved to interact with my classmates who came from all around the world. This particularity made discussions interesting and problem-solving transcendental, as we shared different backgrounds and experiences, which frequently made me change my point of view. However, what I enjoyed the most were the interactions with the programme directors, as they made me feel like part of the university. They hear and involve students in the modules and sessions, which demonstrates their interest and willingness to help and improve.

What I have been doing since graduating

I have been working in Public Health Programmes in Mexico and Latin America that are directed towards the people who needed the most. Many of those programmes are designed and deployed to control, eliminate, and eradicate Neglected Tropical Diseases. I would not have been able to become operative if it wasn't from the knowledge and skills that I got while studying at LSHTM. Also, I have been doing research and teaching at my university, in which I share the love and passion that I have for Global Health and Infectious Diseases.
