This project is part of the EDCTP2 programme supported by the European Union. CSIGN consists of several inter-linked activities to strengthen surveillance for COVID-19 in Ghana. Central to this is expanding upon the existing Influenza Surveillance Network. Alongside this CISGN will utilise modelling, sequencing and social innovation approaches to bring together multiple streams of surveillance data and assist the country’s national COVID-19 response.
The CSIGN consortium consists of LSHTM (coordination centre); the two major organisations leading the COVID-19 response in Ghana – the Ghana Health Service and the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research, and partner academic institutions in the UK and Spain.
CSIGN is funded by the European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership and is a collaboration between partners in the Ghana, Spain and the United Kingdom.
