LSHTM researchers and international colleagues have published a study aiming to estimate mortality, injuries, and detention as a result of anti-government protests in Sudan since December 2018.
The article, published on May 2nd in Conflict and Health (BMC) provides a tabulation of data from three lists publicly available from Sudanese civil society sources. It estimates that 117 civilians have been killed in demonstrations from December - April 9 2019, with most of them shot. As such, it calls for the de facto government to cease attacks against peaceful civilian protesters.
