MRC Unit The Gambia will be visited by Dr Matt Lee, Chief Operating Officer, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), from 9 -14 March 2017. This is an important visit marking the long existing collaboration between the two partner institutions. Both institutions enjoy collaborative benefits dating back to the 90’s when Prof David Mabey, Dr Robin Bailey, Prof Andrew Prentice were associated with MRCG during the Trachoma, Nutrition, Malaria studies. LSHTM provides The Unit with Epidemiological and Statistic training while MRCG PhD students are registered into LSHTM by MRCG supervisors and scientists who hae collaborative projects or are affiliated with Scientists at the LSHTM. MRCG MSc funded courses are also held at LSHTM while LSHTM identifies students for placement/internship to The Unit for their collaborative projects.

During his visit, Dr Lee will meet the affiliated staff and PhD students from LSHTM and also visit our Field Station in Keneba.
