On Thursday 11th January 2018, MRCG through the PERFORM Project donated clinical supplies to the Serrekunda General Hospital. The PERFORM study aims to improve the diagnosis and management of febrile illnesses in children between 1 month to 18 years. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Baboucarr Saine, Administration Officer Serrekunda Hospital, thanked MRCG for their continued support to the Hospital. He said the donated items came at the right time and will make a significant difference, stating “Serrekunda Hospital has benefitted over the years from MRCG and we are grateful to the management for their timely support and contribution towards the development of the health sector in The Gambia.” The Chief Executive Officer at the Serrekunda Hospital, Kebba Manneh, echoed similar sentiments. He stated that the items would add value to the quality of care offered at the hospital.
Dr Efua Usuf, Principal Investigator MRCG commended the hospital management for their tireless efforts in providing health care to the Gambian people. She thanked the hospital management for their continued support and commitment to foster the existing collaboration between the MRCG and Serrekunda hospital.
