Dr Abdou Gai is a Research Clinician on the early Kangaroo Mother Care (eKMC) project since February 2018. He graduated as Medical Doctor from the University of The Gambia in 2014. After his graduation, Dr Gai worked as a Medical Officer at the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH), Pediatric Department from July 2015 to January 2018. He was inspired to pursue a research career in preterm neonates whilst working at the Neonatal Unit of EFSTH. At the MRC festival, Dr Gai will talk about the eKMC project highlighting the benefits of Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC). He will give an overview of the eKMC clinical trial to investigate using KMC early on in unstable babies.
