Educational/professional background
I graduated from Royal Holloway with a Bsc in Biomedical Sciences, and elected to begin my MSc Medical Microbiology immediately rather than taking a year out.
Research interests or career goals
Long term, I would love to do a PhD, and short-term I would like to work in a research setting to learn more about the environment so that I can ensure it’s right for me. As for research interest, I’m enjoying learning about a wide range of microorganisms far too much to just pick one right now, although I’m sure I will when I select my project!
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
I wanted a course that would let me study aspects of microbiology such as parasitology and mycology while still maintaining a focus on bacteria and viruses. Additionally, my undergrad course did not have a large amount of microbiology lab time so I wanted to build up those skills with an intensive taught Masters before moving into more independent research.
