I graduated in 2022 from the University of Tennessee Knoxville with a BA in Food Security and Public Health Nutrition with minors in Spanish and International Agriculture. As a Fulbright Scholar, I lived in Mexico through the Fulbright-GarcĂa Robles program and taught English for 9 months. I began my journey at LSHTM as a Rotary Global Grant Scholar in 2023 on the MSc Nutrition for Global Health.
Research interests or career goals
I am passionate about leveraging food policy and public health infrastructure to address systemic inequities. I have community engagement, non-profit leadership and qualitative research experience in Latin America and the Southeast United States. My current research interests include the implementation and evaluation of equitable nutrition policy and food-environment interventions to support health. With a solid foundation in public health nutrition principles from the MSc, I aspire to transform agrifood systems using nutrition-sensitive interventions through future employment with international NGOs and promoting evidence-based, equity-focused food system approaches.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
Not only is LSHTM's position as a global leader in public health attractive, but the greatest asset is the wealth of international expert lecturers and colleagues I am surrounded by and learning from. I was excited by the MSc Nutrition for Global Health which takes an interdisciplinary approach to public health nutrition and am looking forward to applying the learning in the wider global context.
