Educational/professional background
I have an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences and industry experience in biopharma having completed a professional placement at Pfizer UK as a Clinical Scientist (Vaccines EvGen department). I worked on a number of global clinical epidemiological studies providing operational, scientific and administrative support. I have also worked in health/social care supporting disabled children and young adults in my local community.
My interest in the science and future of healthcare pushed me to come straight from undergrad to LSHTM! I studied MSc Public Health.
Research interests or career goals
Public Health was a new and exciting field for me, I have taken the skills I gained to help improve healthcare access and inequity. I'm passionate about science communication, health policy and links between the environment and health. I currently work in External Affairs at the National Institute for Health and Care Research and support the UK Vaccine Innovation Pathway. My time at LSHTM as the Student Liaison Officer for the Vaccine Centre was key in shaping my career goals.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
LSHTM stood out to me as one of the best places to study public health globally! The academically rigorous environment, diverse syllabus and wider student community make it an amazing place to learn and grow. It's a challenging but rewarding degree and experience.
