I graduated with my bachelor’s degree from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa where I studied Sociology/Anthropology and Religion. During my degree, I became very passionate about public health and individual health experiences. After graduation, and before doing my MSc at LSHTM, I worked some seasonal positions as well as serving as the Life Enrichment Director at a retirement community which solidified my interest in healthy ageing behaviours.
What I enjoyed most about studying my programme/at LSHTM
I thoroughly enjoyed my D&H cohort and fellow students across all the programmes. Being in class with people from all sectors from all corners of the earth brought in so many new perspectives to class discussions.
Research interests/career goals
Since graduating I was able to remain in the UK on the Graduate visa and have been working in the charity sector with Age UK as a Service Development and Improvement Advisor. I have been focusing on behaviour change and the role physical activity has in reducing the risk of falls.
