I'm a health professional with a bachelor's degree of Medicine and Surgery, a specialist's degree of Applied Methods of Research in Medical Sciences and a master's degree of Health Sciences from Anahuac University. I work as instructional designer, researcher and academic coordinator of the Public Health programs at Carlos Slim Foundation.
Research interests or career goals
My primary lines of research have included Antimicrobial Resistance and Neglected Tropical Diseases. but recently I had the opportunity to start doing research about Non-Communicable Diseases, Maternal & Child Health and Medical Education. After finishing this degree, I would like to study the doctor's degree in Public Health at LSHTM and join Doctors Without Borders.
Why I chose LSHTM/my course
I chose the MSc Infectious Diseases because since early in my career I developed special interest on infectious diseases while working in community awareness, implementation of health policies and research on neglected tropical diseases. I chose LSHTM because besides its well-known academic prestige, along those years I experienced its will to provide healthcare during humanitarian crises, its proficiency to control outbreaks and its avidity to develop world-changing research, qualities that I admire and cherish myself. Since then, I dreamed about studying at it, but due to logistics it seemed complicated until distance learning became an option.
