Educational/professional background

I hold a master’s degree in Community Health Education and have experience working in academia and the non-profit sector.

Research interests/career goals

My main research interests are the social and behavioural determinants of health. I also have interests in the thematic areas of HIV/AIDS, sexual and reproductive health, and maternal and child health. My overarching career goal is to become a skilled public health researcher and work in reducing health inequities.

Why I chose LSHTM/my programme

I chose LSHTM because of its strong international reputation as a centre of excellence for public health research. I felt that LSHTM is the right institution to hone my critical thinking and public health research skills. I also liked the wide range of courses available in the distance learning programme that allows choosing elective courses that best suit my professional needs. LSHTM’s diverse student community and strong connections to global health organisations were additional perks I could not ignore.
