Hi there! I’m Lethu, a South African medical doctor with a passion for improving public health, especially in underserved communities. After completing my internship and community service in Johannesburg, I ventured into public health and the development sector, which has sparked a desire to dive deeper into this field. I also create fun, jargon-free health education content in isiZulu—check it out, and connect with me on social media.
In addition to my studies, I’m the current Student Representative Council (SRC) President at LSHTM, where I advocate for student voices and leadership.
Research interests or career goals
My research interests lie in sexual and reproductive health work and understanding public health systems at the community and population levels, especially in areas like mine, where resources are scarce, but the potential is endless.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
I chose LSHTM because it’s the best place for public health, with a legacy of producing global leaders, and I’m eager to follow in their footsteps.
