Educational/professional background
I earned my medical bachelor's degree from the University College of Medical Sciences in Delhi, India. Preceding my enrollment at LSHTM, I accrued four years of experience in diverse clinical settings, with a primary emphasis on health programs related to primary health care, and maternal and child health. Throughout my undergraduate years, I dedicated two years to serving as a research assistant, delving into the intricate dimensions of climate change. Additionally, I successfully completed the MSF's Global Health and Humanitarian Medicine course, which specifically concentrated on neglected tropical diseases and global health.
Research interests or career goals
My research interests center on the intersection of climate change, infectious diseases, and non-communicable diseases. Upon completing the MSc program, my goal is to contribute to health policy, with a specific focus on international development. I aspire to address the unique healthcare needs of vulnerable populations, particularly children, adolescents, and young mothers.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
I chose LSHTM due to its esteemed reputation as a leading institution in the field of public health. The diverse community at LSHTM, comprised of individuals from various cultures and backgrounds, offers a unique opportunity to glean insights from a spectrum of experiences. Opting for the MSc Public Health aligns with my aspiration to broaden my comprehension of current public health challenges and to develop evidence-based strategies for addressing these issues.
