Contact Saviour BadziEducational/professional background
I have BSc Health Education and currently works as a health educator with the Salvation Army Hospital, an institution under the Ministry of Health, Ghana. My professional journey includes health education, health promotion, needs assessment, value-based assessment (VBA), societal and behavioural change communication (SBCC) and sexual and reproductive health policy analysis and research especially among adolescents with disabilities.
Research interests or career goals
I have a passion for research in sexual and reproductive health (SRH) among adolescents and young women with disabilities. I am also very interested in implementation research, discovering and addressing barriers to efficacious SRH interventions and services among populations. I hope to pursue my research interests with a PhD in Public Health, focusing on SRH research among adolescents and young women with disabilities and the prevention of STIs among this vulnerable group.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
I am particularly impressed with LSHTM’s passion for capacity building and research in the Sexual and Reproductive Health landscape, with dedicated attention to the subject in low-to-middle-income countries. Also, the kind of flexibility offered by the School through its numerous online and distance learning programmes without compromising on quality made the MSc Sexual & Reproductive Health Policy and Programming an easy choice for me.
