This term’s film series begins with a film exploring family planning during the swinging sixties. Produced by the London Rubber Company, manufacturers of Durex condoms, it looks at different contraceptive methods from the Pill to withdrawal. Dr Jessica Borge (Université de Strasbourg) will discuss the film, drawing on the research from her PhD, entitled “‘Wanting it Both Ways’: The London Rubber Company, the Condom and the Pill, 1915-1970”.
