A convergence of experts on antimicrobial resistance
Looking at data on antimicrobial resistance in LMICs
Compared to other disease areas, data on antimicrobial resistance is still suboptimal, especially in LMICs. Important lessons learned from resistance surveillance of HIV, TB, malaria can inform the next generation of the Global Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance System (GLASS) by WHO. Nationally representative survey data enhances global efforts to monitor AMR trends by promoting standardized data collection and informing public health policies to combat AMR. The aim is to reduce the global burden of resistant infections through comprehensive surveillance and evidence-based interventions.
