Seminar
The Environmental Dimension of Antimicrobial Resistance
This seminar will explore the holistic understanding of the environmental dimension of antimicrobial resistance.
A One Health approach to tackling the global challenge of antimicrobial resistance includes elements of the environment that, in some cases, have only recently been recognised as important sources of antimicrobial resistance genes and antimicrobial resistance-driving chemicals. The presentation will highlight this holistic understanding of the environmental dimension of AMR and discuss some of the key questions that need answering in the timespan of the next 5-year AMR National Action plan to facilitate a decline in the risk of transmission of AMR from the environment to humans.
Speaker
Dr Andrew Singer, Principal Scientist at UK Center for Ecology & Hydrology
