Study: The Clean before-&-after study: An impact and process evaluation design to evaluate the effectiveness of training and quality improvement on environmental hygiene in facilities
Please join us for this evaluation design workshop, in which Giorgia Gon will present the design of a proposed impact and process evaluation of training and quality improvement on environmental hygiene in health facilities. We welcome your participation to support the development of this study.
The “Clean” study will be conducted in three Tanzanian hospitals over 18 months from March 2018. With the funding granted from the Wellcome/MRC/DFID/DOH Joint Global Health Trials scheme, we will conduct a before-and-after study to investigate whether training hospital cleaners and instigating broader quality improvement impacts behaviour and environmental hygiene in maternity and newborn units. This project represents the development phase for a cluster-randomized trial (CRT) to reduce healthcare-associated infections (HAI) in mothers and newborns.
The evaluation design workshops offer the chance to present your work to, and discuss methodological challenges with, a ‘critical friend’ audience. Workshops can be arranged at any stage – from grant applications to specific challenges that may arise during the evaluation’s life cycle. Read Professor Bayard Roberts’ and Dr Lucy Platt’s reflections on their experiences of having presented at a workshop.
