This seminar on using evidence synthesis to inform climate change and health policies will include two separate talks from two different speakers:

Evidence synthesis for UK government on climate change impacts on health

Dr Kovats will talk about her work on the second and third UK national climate change risk assessment technical report, which used to support the development of national adaptation plans.

Evidence-informed policy making at WHO, and how new work streams are formed and funded

Dr Sharma will discuss how evidence is used in decision-making formally at WHO through its governance processes through its quality assurance, norms and standards team within the Science Division at HQ and its counterparts in our Region, and also touch on the grant and project approach which is becoming even more present in the current political climate.
