Film: Research in the Rhondda (1969)
What is it like to be a research subject in an epidemiological survey? How do epidemiologists keep participants engaged in longitudinal research and avoid loss-to-follow-up? This film explores some of the human stories behind epidemiological research, using Archie Cochrane’s famous survey of pneumoconiosis in the Welsh mining valleys of Rhondda as its topic.
Dr Daisy Payling (LSHTM) will be discussing the film and placing surveys such as these in historical perspective.
