Genomic surveillance of enteric and emerging pathogens at the public health interface in Australia
Join us for the first of the AMR Centre’s 2022/23 Seminar Series – we are moving back to hybrid format, in-person at Keppel Street and online via Zoom!
Bacterial enteric pathogens are leading causative agents for gastrointestinal disease globally. Compounding this problem is that antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is increasingly prevalent in these pathogens, representing a serious threat to human health. In this seminar, Dr Ingle will explore the population dynamics, epidemiology and dissemination of AMR in enteric pathogens circulating in Australia and how research is informing public health surveillance of these priority pathogens. She will also address current efforts to expand pathogen genomic research and surveillance in Australia and the surrounding region.
Speaker
Dr Danielle Ingle, Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity
