My wife has drug-resistant TB; and what of me and our children?
Co-hosted with the TB Centre
Summary
The last two decades have seen huge leaps in the recognition and diagnosis of MDR-TB and therapeutic management is gradually catching up. Nevertheless, for an affected household the identification of an individual with MDR-TB using a novel diagnostic and the initiation of an exciting new treatment regimen, is only the start of the journey. Management of the MDR-TB exposed household contacts remains an unresolved problem. This talk will touch on new horizons for diagnosis and treatment of MDR-TB and explore what we can offer to the millions of family members exposed to MDR-TB in the household each year.
