The role of modelling during the COVID-19 pandemic
Mathematical modelling played a key role in our response to the COVID-19 pandemic, both in the UK and around the world. Models were used to understand the health and economic consequences of COVID-19 and related interventions, in order to guide policy options. In this talk, we will hear the story of the role that LSHTM modellers played in the pandemic, including how they interacted with policy-makers and the media, and what lessons we can draw for the use of modelling in future global infectious disease emergencies.
