Covering current trends of STIs in England

This talk will cover the current trends of STIs in England – using data from national surveillance and behavioural surveys to examine the multiple factors beneath the numbers. The webinar will also discuss emerging and new aspects of STIs, such as syphilis re-emergence, shigella and mpox. The talk will conclude with an overview of new developments on the horizon for STI prevention.

Speakers

​​Katy Sinka​ 

Katy Sinka is an epidemiologist and the head of STIs at the UKHSA.  She has worked on many different facets of HIV and STI surveillance and prevention throughout her public health career.  

Hamish Mohammed

Hamish Mohammed is a consultant at the UKHSA, he directs the national surveillance of STIs and chlamydia and leads on research to improve understanding of risk and risk reduction for STIs in England.
