Professor Joy Lawn will deliver this lecture entitled 'Women's and Children's health: non fake news about sex, births and 9 million deaths'.
Professor Joy Lawn, Director of the March Centre and an African born paediatrician and epidemiologist will provide an overview of births around the world. This talk will provide the latest data, evidence and debates, highlighting some of the School’s very varied research, from more than 100 studies in over 100 countries linked to the MARCH Centre.
The Global Health Lecture Series is held every Monday during the first two terms, with the exception of Reading Weeks. Leading experts from the School present up-to-date summaries and debates about a range of global health issues. Each lecture is 45-60 minutes, followed by Q&A, and they are open to all students as well as anyone interested in learning more about global health.
