We are hosting a celebration for the opening of our 14th centre – the Centre on Climate Change and Planetary Health.
The new LSHTM Centre aims to identify solutions to the challenges to public health of climate and environmental change. Transdisciplinary, collaborative approaches in the face of these systemic changes will be increasingly important, and LSHTM is uniquely poised to work on key aspects for our collective health.
The new Centre will bring together researchers from different backgrounds to answer these difficult questions together. Our research will focus on subjects including designing sustainable and healthy cities, controlling shifting patterns of infectious disease, and delivering sustainable and healthy food systems under environmental change.
Peter Piot will open the launch at 4pm, followed by introductions from Andy Haines (Centre Chair) and Alan Dangour (Centre Director). The keynote speech will be given by Mary Creagh MP (Chair of the Environmental Audit Committee, UK House of Commons).
This session will be live-streamed and recorded - available to both internal and external audiences.
LSHTM's short courses provide opportunities to study specialised topics across a broad range of public and global health fields. From AMR to vaccines, travel medicine to clinical trials, and modelling to malaria, refresh your skills and join one of our short courses today.
