About
The data research theme focuses on how we collect and use data, including methodologies around data collection, big data, development and use of mobile phone apps, wearable and remote monitoring (e.g. sensors), as well as methodologies relating to what happens to data after collection – data linkage, visualisation, curation and dissemination.
These issues have important applications across many areas within epidemiology, public health and medicine, with two important and growing applications being data research methodologies within large field studies and during outbreaks and emergencies, and how technology is used in these contexts.
We also aim to facilitate research publications focusing on data research and methodology, while promoting good practice around data and open science.
