The Clinical Academic Training Office oversees the coordination of the Clinical Academics at LSHTM.
Clinical academics possess expertise in both clinical and scientific research and work across all three faculties at LSHTM. They undertake clinical practice, conduct academic research, teaching and training. The mix of these elements varies across individuals and their specific roles.
The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) has a video on developing a clinical academic career, which is a quick guide for any healthcare professionals who may be considering a clinical academic career.
The CATO is managed by the Medical Director and supported by Liaison Officers in the respective clinical areas.
Training and courses
We run an MSc in Public Health, MSc Public Health – General stream, as well as Public Health by Distance Learning (available as a Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma or MSc). The School also offers other relevant Master's degrees.
