COP27 Climate and Health Events

The 27th Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC (COP27) will take place in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt from 6-18 November, with a view to facilitating action to limit temperature rise, supporting countries to adapt to climate impacts, and mobilising climate finance.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has recognised climate change as the greatest threat to human health of the 21st century. Despite growing evidence of the health impacts of climate change, as well as the potential health benefits of climate action, health has largely been peripheral to climate change negotiations.

LSHTM, alongside the WHO, the global health community and a wide range of partners from academia, government, business and civil society, will be contributing to COP27 to highlight the importance of integrating health into all climate policies and stepping up action to ensure a sustainable future. LSHTM researchers will present the latest evidence on climate change and health and explore solutions to accelerate the just transition to net zero healthy societies.
