What drives population differences in vaccine response? Updates from the POPVAC trial
This seminar will provide an update of findings from the landmark POPVAC study in Uganda.
Differences in vaccine responses across populations present a key challenge in global health, affecting the development of effective vaccines and their equitable impact. Responses have often been seen to be poorer in low-income countries, especially rural settings.
The Population Differences in Vaccine response (POPVAC) clinical trials, a series of studies recently published in The Lancet Global Health, investigated these differences with the aim of contributing to better understanding of this phenomenon.
At this month’s Vaccine Centre webinar, we invite the leading researchers from the POPVAC study to provide an update on major findings from the landmark studies.
Speakers
We will host speakers from the POPVAC team at LSHTM, including Agnes Natukunda, Jacent Nassuuna, Gyaviira Nkurunungi, Ludoviko Zirimenya, Emily Webb, and Alison Elliott.
The speakers are based at the MRC/UVRI and LSHTM Uganda Research Unit, the Clinical Research Department, the Department of Infection Biology, and the Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology and International Health.
